Matthew Barrett graduated from UCLA with a BA in History and Art History. He earned an MLIS from UCLA’s School of Information Studies. He has worked for Metro and its predecessors since 1991. Barrett is a member of the Special Library Association’s Transportation Division and an appointee to the National Academies Transportation Research Board. He has directed Metro’s transportation research library, historical archive and records management program since 2002. He is a recipient of a Special Library Association Innovations Award in 2013 and Metro’s Spirit Award in 2017.
