The connection between the citrus industry and railroads (maligned by newspapers in the nineteenth century as “the Octopus”) is the focus of this presentation from the LaVerne Historical Society. Please join us at the Bidwell Forum.

Benjamin Jenkins is Assistant Professor of History and University of La Verne Archivist. He teaches U.S. & California history and directs the Public History Program. He received his Ph.D. in Public History at the University of California, Riverside, in 2016. He is currently completing two books on the California citrus industry, and oversees the Citrus Roots Collection at the University.

General Membership Meeting Task: Chair of the Nominating Committee to announce the opening of the nominating period for the Board of Directors of the Society.

This is a meeting of the General Membership and a presentation of the Glendora Historical Society hosted by the Glendora Public Library.
