  • This event is FREE. Donations appreciated. Limit one guest per member. Except Friends and Patrons, limit two guests per member. Children must be 8 years or older. Limit one minor per adult. Minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

The Tea is back and it’s a wintery brew! Please come to this post-holiday, post-new year event in January. Your fellow Society Members will be there enjoying...

  • Michael Rubel's favorite tea (and other hot beverages)
  • Sweets and savories potluck
  • Live music by Frank Fairfield
  • Crafting fun

What do I bring?

  • Bring something for four to share (eight if you're ambitious!)
  • If your last name starts with:
    • A-K: bring something savory
    • L-P: bring something salad-y
    • Q-Z: bring something sweet
  • Bring your mug. It will help reduce waste. Mugs will also be available in our gift shop. We will also have disposable mugs but that won't be as fun.
  • Bring a friend (RSVP required)

About the artist
Frank Fairfield
is a multi-instrumentalist, music teacher, and record collector. He spent many years performing Anglo-American vernacular music around the country and the world performing at such notable venues as the Royal Albert Hall and the Kennedy Center, playing at festivals including Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and the Newport Folk Festival, appearing on NPR’s Tiny Desk concerts, and providing music for film and television including the animated miniseries Over the Garden Wall. He now focuses on teaching vernacular music and studying 17th- and 18th-century violin repertoire and performance practice. Frank lives and teaches in Los Angeles, California.
